Creating stylish outerwear has never been this fun! Join our Jean's instructor, Sarah, as she takes you through making your own stylish Shacket!

Working with the Bud Shacket pattern from Seamwork, you'll put your own spin on this perfect season transition garment. Bring your own fabric, so you leave with a shacket you'll wear and make again and again. Pockets and plackets to collar and cuffs, after this workshop they'll all be a breeze.

We've added a video call on fit and sizing the week before, so you can come with your pattern and fabric cut and ready to jump right into sewing!

Length: 13 Hours (1 Hour video call on September 21st, 6 hours of in-studio time with half-hour lunch break each day)

Cost: $310.00+gst per person

Pre-Requisites: Garment Sewing Experience

Level: 4/4 - Not sure if you meet the requirements to take this class? Click HERE for skill-level descriptions.

Supplies:

You are welcome to bring any fabric you like, but if you buy your fabric in-store at RICK RACK you'll get a little bonus of 10% off your class fabric

Remember to bring extra meterage if working with a fabric that needs to be pattern-matched.

Come Ready:

Patterns and fabric must be cut out before the start of your in-studio time. Patterns will be printed and available to pick up 2 weeks before.

Skills Learned:

  • Plackets
  • Cuffs & Collars
  • Applying Snaps
  • Burrito Method

Notes: Sergers will be provided for finishing seams.

While we have some great machines available to RENT, we highly recommend bringing your own machine to learn on so you are comfortable to venture out on your making journey together!

SOLD IN FULL METERS - fabric, elastic, and other products that are cut to measure are available only in full meters for online orders. Its a Shopify thing and as soon as we find an awesome workaround you can count on us to make that magic happen. Want to put in a request for a 0.5 meter cut? Find the form HERE! Due to order volume, 0.5m requests will NOT be processed during online sales.

Buying fabric? Measure twice so that we can cut once! Review your pattern. Check the unit of measure (we go by meters). Add a bit of length to factor in shrinkage during prewashing.

Buying patterns? Pattern size ranges can vary depending on the pattern, designer, and style. Review the pattern closely before purchase and check your own measurements against the pattern specifications. All patterns and printed materials (books, magazines, etc.) are final sale.

Picking colours? RICK RACK does our best to accurately represent all products and colours but colours may appear different between device screens. Please be aware that any cut fabric cannot be returned or exchanged, so if you're not sure about colour drop us a line or send us an email!
