Prerequisite: Learn to Sew Basics workshop at RICK RACK
OR know how to thread and sew with a sewing machine AND have practiced sewing in the past 2 months
The Lou Box Top workshop is a versatile, loose fitting top that is a perfect introduction the basics of garment sewing! In this workshop you will you will learn how to trace, cut, and read patterns, apply sewing basics, curve sewing and finishing. Be ready to make this a summer uniform in different fabrics!
For learning purposes, the workshop focuses on view A - a flattering, basic straight hem with a crew neck option. This pattern was designed with beginners in mind and is also fun for more experienced sewists who want to add a quick-to-make basic to their wardrobe. This pattern is size inclusive.
Please remember that this workshop will help you create your “wearable muslin” - a learning piece that will also add some me-made flair to your wardrobe.
Participants MUST BE comfortable with:
- sewing with a sewing machine
- threading the machine and bobbin
- sewing straight stitches & zigzag stitches
- fabric pressing
- you have done some nifty sewing in the past 2 months
