Bespoke Necktie

Don't tie yourself in a knot trying to make a tie, take our Bespoke Necktie class and we'll show you how to make a true Windsor!

Create a necktie that is truly you (or truly whoever you gift it to) in this half-day class; pick your own fabric, choose from 4 sizes of the Graham Necktie from Seamwork, and lovingly stitch it. This tie is something that can be stitched completely by hand - don't worry we'll be using a machine for some of it, but you'll learn some awesome hand-sewing techniques in the process.

Supplies: 

Included: White lining fabric, lightweight interfacing, Seamwork's Graham Necktie pattern

Not Included: Bring your own tie fabric! Choose the perfect pattern or solid to *suit* your taste, just make sure it follows these simple guidelines:

• Bring 1 meter of fabric 
• For beginner sewists we recommend a light-weight stable fabric, choose a 100% cotton lawn or light-weight sateen
• For more advanced sewists you can venture out to silks or less stable fabrics for a greater challenge, just make sure it is lightweight
• For your first tie please no stripes or plaids  

Skills Learned:

• Hand sewing techniques 
• Cutting and sewing on the bias
• Applying interfacing
• Adding a lining 

Sewing machines will be provided for this class, as there is minimal machine sewing and most of the work is done by hand.
