Jacket Drafting

Want a truly bespoke wardrobe? Take the next step in your sewing journey and create your own pattern!

This 2-day class is designed to dip your toe into the pattern drafting pool and see whether it’s a fit.  Flat pattern draft your very own Reversible Boxy Jacket, for your exact measurements, then bring it to life! 

Length: 11 Hours

Pre-Requisites: Garment Sewing Experience

Level: 1/4 Drafting, 4/4 Sewing - Not sure if you meet the requirements to take this class? Click HERE for skill-level descriptions. 

Supplies: 

• Drafting Supplies Included - take home your own roll of RICK RACK Tracing Paper
• Fabric Not Included - participants must bring a minimum of 2-3 meters of woven fabric for both the outer fabric and lining (4-6 meters total), as well as matching thread. We recommend a light to medium-weight woven, stay away from heavy-weight denim, twills, canvas, and the like. Make sure to not bring your favourite stashed fabric as this is a learning project. If you would like to add some structure to your jacket we recommend bringing a small amount (0.5m) of interfacing or purchasing it during class.

Notes: This class is very physical and requires a large amount of standing. If you are unable to stand for extended periods of time we do not recommend taking this class. If you would like to talk to us further about this please call or email us, prior to registering.

While we have some great machines available to RENT, we highly recommend bringing your own machine to learn on so you are comfortable to venture out on your making journey together!

Class Cancellation Policy:

Registrations can be canceled up to 48 hours after booking a class for a full refund. Cancellations made after 48 hours are eligible for a credit or transfer. Cancellations made within 72 hours of the class are not eligible for a credit or transfer. To read the full cancellation policy click HERE.

If you are sick and unable to attend, RICK RACK will work with you to reschedule your participation. Please do not come to class sick.
