Three Day Workshop
Prerequisite: Gypsum Skirt Workshop @ RICK RACK OR Intermediate sewing skills
In this weekend-long workshop of awesomeness, you will be guided through the principles of making jeans! Stretch denim Jeans!!! Whaaaat?! We have included two patterns from two amazing indie designers to include an inclusive size range - The Ginger Jeans by Closet Case & The Ames Jeans by Cashmerette! Topics will include pattern grading, working with stretch denim, serging raw edges, piecing & assembly, zipper fly installation, and bar tacks. There will be demos. There will be one-on-one instruction. There will be magic. There will be food included! This workshop also comes with two hours of complimentary studio use!
Please remember that this will be your first attempt at using this pattern, it may not be absolutely perfect, and that’s ok! Our workshops will help you create your “wearable muslin”.
With the pattern sent to your email after the session, you’ll have the sewing confidence to recreate it for your future projects! Instructors and our retail staff can also help you with fabric inspirations.

Participants MUST BE comfortable with threading the machine and bobbin, straight stitches, zigzag stitching, fabric pressing and a few sewing projects under your belt. If you are more comfortable with your home sewing machine, please bring it! The more the merrier! We will the studio machines for topstitching.
This workshop is for intermediate sewists. We recommend taking the Gypsum Skirt Workshop as a prerequisite.
*We provide a complimentary consultation to help plan your project with us. Please plan a visit to RICK RACK before you attend the first session of this workshop. During this consultation, we are happy to help you pick and purchase your fabrics and material list. You will need to take home your fabric and pre-wash and press before the start of your first workshop.
