The Sulis Hat is named for an ancient Celtic goddess of the sun, who was thought to reside by the thermal spring in Bath. This is Pattern Fantastique's offering for those who wish to embody a goddess lounging by the water, or in the backyard with a paddling pool.
The Sulis has serious sun protection in mind, but a shape only worthy of the divine. With an offset brim which is deeper at the front and shorter at the back, and a crafted form-fitting crown for a strong silhouette, the Sulis is reminiscent of 70’s era YSL fashion.
There are optional ties for when a blustery air god swings by and crown trim for a little added finish. The Sulis remains soft and pliable so that it can be stashed in a beach bag or pressed into crisp perfection for special occasions.

Due to order volume, 0.5m requests will NOT be processed during online sales.
Buying fabric? Measure twice so that we can cut once! Review your pattern. Check the unit of measure (we go by meters). Add a bit of length to factor in shrinkage during prewashing.
Buying patterns? Pattern size ranges can vary depending on the pattern, designer, and style. Review the pattern closely before purchase and check your own measurements against the pattern specifications. All patterns and printed materials (books, magazines, etc.) are final sale.
