Burda August 2026 - Colourful & Wild
With one foot still in summer vacation and the other already looking ahead to the new season, the August issue of Burda Style accompanies all sewing enthusiasts through the transition into autumn with 28 sewing patterns, including 9 step-by-step models. An inspiring wardrobe that combines relaxed summer style with the first trends of the new season.
The Highlights of August 2026
- The “New Boho Chic and Soft Shades of Blue” collection celebrates the return to the new season with a bohemian-vintage wave, including 5 Curvy-size designs. Paisley prints, floral details, and timeless denim are dressed in shades of blue, from navy to icy tones.
- Animal signature: leopard, snake, and zebra prints and patterns are reinvented in more graphic and contemporary versions for bold urban looks.
- 5 must-have trends: a trench coat, balloon skirt, avant-garde harem pants, revisited polo shirt or draped trapeze blouse. Each piece embodies a balance between timelessness and boldness, creating an autumn wardrobe that is both chic and confident.
- The iconic model inspired by Olivia Palermo: a chic and contemporary interpretation of the women's suit with an American touch.
- The Best Of collection offers four easy and quick-to-sew projects with a holiday spirit!
- The special model: an organic jersey T-shirt, easy to sew, accompanied by detailed instructions for making it with an overlocker.
- Upcycling project: a fringed belt with a modern rodeo spirit made from leather fabric scraps.
- This August issue of Burda Style is the ideal companion to extend the spirit of summer and ease into the new season.

SOLD IN FULL METERS - fabric, elastic, and other products that are cut to measure are available only in full meters for online orders. Its a Shopify thing and as soon as we find an awesome workaround you can count on us to make that magic happen. Want to put in a request for a 0.5 meter cut? Find the form HERE! Due to order volume, 0.5m requests will NOT be processed during online sales.
Buying fabric? Measure twice so that we can cut once! Review your pattern. Check the unit of measure (we go by meters). Add a bit of length to factor in shrinkage during prewashing.
Buying patterns? Pattern size ranges can vary depending on the pattern, designer, and style. Review the pattern closely before purchase and check your own measurements against the pattern specifications. All patterns and printed materials (books, magazines, etc.) are final sale.
Picking colours? RICK RACK does our best to accurately represent all products and colours but colours may appear different between device screens. Please be aware that any cut fabric cannot be returned or exchanged, so if you're not sure about colour drop us a line or send us an email!
